There hasn’t been much information about the upcoming 2018 Audi A8 Avant but there have been several rumors concerning the production of the line. Besides some of the planning for the vehicle, there have been several possible updates concerning the styling of the design. The power may be similar between one another but the overall design and shape will likely be different.
The Upcoming Update
Again, Audi hasn’t said anything official confirming their latest production and planning for the A8. Since some of the auto enthusiasts have been discussing the launch of the A8, some of the artists have created their rendering images with the flagship saloon as the basic platform. They somehow change the four door construction into an Avant, an estate vehicle.
So, what is about 2018 Audi A8 Avant that is appealing so much? Well, the transformation from the four door sedan to an Avant is quite obvious and visible. It includes an elongated form of the roof to the rear area and the tailgate. But other than that, there isn’t much difference from the current launch. Will the company build an Avant in the end? Not really sure either. You see, Audi has shown their Prologue concept, which is used as the basic inspiration for the A8. And then they show the Prologue’s Avant version, so it is pretty logical if we start making conclusion that Audi may be making the A8 Avant. If they have made the Prologue concept as well as the Prologue’s Avant style, and making it come true through the A8, why not making the A8 Avant?
For the A8 launch, Audi has been prepared with several engine options. There will be both gas and diesel V8 unit with 4.0 liter capacity, where the gas will give you 460 hp of power while the diesel will give you 435 hp of power. The options for the engine are the eight cylinder, six cylinder, and the W12. For the first launch of V8 availability, the engine option will only gas unit with 3.0 liter capacity, delivering 340 hp of power while the diesel unit delivering 286 hp of power.
For the first launch of A8, the price would be set around $103,500 for the first launch in Germany. When compared to the 7 Series from Beemer, the A8 is $4000 more expensive. Or when compared to the S-Class from Mercy in its entry class, it is almost $2,500 pricier. So far, there hasn’t been any confirmed statement about 2018 Audi A8 Avant.
