If we compared this height with the outgoing model, it is a bit shorter but wider. The wheelbase comes with longer value at 91.1 inches. Overall, the proportions of this car are not really different with 2015 model year. However, you will see its differences at the distinctive design language with the sheet metal materials. Mazda has confidence with MX-5 contemporary design and unique which become the most demanding things on customers’ thought. The secret formula is adopted from Kodo design philosophy which also implemented on the Mazda 6, Mazda 4 and even Mazda CX-5 new generations.

Mazda gives us cockpit-style of analog gauges here to make driver more passionate while driving this convertible. The classic air vents and climate controls will keep your mind on classic era but shadowed by modern infotainment system in its low-set dashboard.
Under the Hood
We have stated that this car has reengineered by Mazda. It is probably true but also probably wrong because we have found some of the old and some of the new engine under the hood of 2016 Mazda MX-5. It has 2.0-liter SkyActiv with direct-injection four cylinder engine. It probably pumps around 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque at other Mazda’s lineup. These powers are transferred very well with six-speed manual transmission and gives better fuel efficiency with SkyActiv supports by Mazda. We are still expecting for the automatic transmission, but Mazda has not confirmed it until now.
